Thanks for caring

Earlier this week, I was admitted to Foothills Medical Centre for a scheduled surgery. Based on other surgeries I've had in the past, this one was pretty invasive and is going to leave some scars.
Spending time in hospital is not a normal experience. There are so many variables, and despite the very best efforts of doctors and surgeons, the outcome is hardly guaranteed. It is also a time when you are at your most vulnerable, and sometimes, most frightened.
Without a shadow of doubt, what has got me through the experience every single time is the nursing team. It is their unwavering dedication, professionalism, diligence, kindness and compassion – executed hourly under intense pressure – that got me through it all, so thank you for all that you do.
