In these times when so much criticism is levelled at our healthcare system, I am thankful and pleased to share my exceptional experience regarding my recent eye surgery at Rockyview General Hospital Day Surgery Unit From the clerk at DaySurgery PreOp, to the Admitting Clerks, to the nurses, to the porters, I was treated with care, generosity, and respect. I was spoken to by name and listened to with patience. The surgical team was similarly thoughtful, communicative, and kind. My experience was a reminder to me, and to all of us, that healthcare, while a demanding and technical field, is one that relies tremendously on its people and on relationship.
